Christmas program: Poulenc's Gloria and Handel's Messiah

Can you Handel Poulenc? Enjoy the Christmas tradition of excerpts from Handel’s Messiah, then join us as we dive into the contemporary masterpiece of Francis Poulenc’s setting of the Gloria. Both works will be accompanied by orchestra comprised primarily of members of the Wenatchee Valley Symphony. You won’t want to miss this special holiday event!

The Chorale’s second concert of the season will feature a major choral work "double header" in the beautiful acoustic setting of the newly remodeled Holy Apostles Catholic Church in East Wenatchee. Mozart’s Mass in C ("Coronation") will be followed by a special Lenten presentation of Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem. A chamber orchestra will accompany both works and guest soloists from the Wenatchee area will be included.

The Columbia Chorale will conclude the concert year with a focus on music from the North and South American continents. Songs from Canada, Mexico, South America and, of course, the United States will be featured. A guest Mariachi group from the Wenatchee Valley will be on hand to perform.
